When you have a bucket list, you can plan for the best time of year to visit each place, set-up flight notifications at top places to get the best prices, and plan for the adventure of your lifetime! We know you’re not kicking the bucket any time soon, but that’s no excuse. Write down your list and get moving!
Here is lolglobetrotting’s official travel bucket list, numbers 20-11, counting down from 50 all the way to number 1.
20. Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast is on the ‘shin’ of Italy’s boot, coming in right above the ankle, and at number 20 on our bucket list. Why? You tell me. Is it the breathtaking coastline? Unbeatable Italian dining? Fine sandy beaches? All of the above.
The Amalfi Coast is also a HUGE producer of lemons and Limoncello for Italy and the world. You know what they say, when life give you lemons, bring them to Amalfi so they can turn those lemons into booze.

19. Petra, Dead Sea and Ma ‘An Governorate
The Dead Sea is 10 TIMES SALTIER THAN THE OCEAN! You will literally float just by plopping your butt in the salty goodness, no life vest needed.
As a bonus, the muddy black bottom is supposed to be FULL of nutrients that are amazing for your skin. You’ll be floating in the water with mud all over your face, basically a deluxe spa treatment if you ask us!
After a spa day in the Dead Sea, we want to head to Ma ‘An Governorate. This seems like somewhere you have to see to believe. The buildings are literally carved into the edge of a cliff. Seems like a perfect place to ride a camel up to…

18. Japan sushi
Sushi is one of those foods where authentic is SO much better than knock-offs. Where do you get the most authentic sushi on earth? Japan of course!
Our second date was to a sushi restaurant (the first was to a brewery of course). Naturally, we want to make the trip to the birthplace of sushi and try the best on earth!
We absolutely LOVE photography, and sharing pictures! These are the cameras we use on all of our adventures. The drone and GoPro help us get cool new perspectives (underwater, in the air, wide angle) and the Rebel we use on a day-to-day basis for most of our shots!
Full disclosure these are affiliate links. If you click them and buy the products we get a little bit of money, which helps us keep providing content to you for free!
Advice from Hopper on how to make the most of your sushi adventure in Japan:
Forget everything you know about sushi. The tradition began as simple street food using fish freshly caught from the Tokyo Bay in the 18th century when the city was still called Edo, wrapped in dried seaweed (also called Nori) or on a bed of vinegared rice. It was optimal on the go, because it could be prepared easily and eaten with the hands. Now it’s an international phenomenon and an art form, simultaneously grabbed from a grocery store counter by New Yorkers on their way back from the gym and meticulously prepared by skilled shokunin in internationally acclaimed restaurants. In the upper echelon of sushi masters, the California roll does not exist, additional soy sauce is a faux-pas, eating with one’s hands is entirely accepted, and the price tag is always worth it in the presence of an artisan who has spent their entire life in the pursuit of perfect sushi.
Hungry Japanophiles on their way to Tokyo need only keep in mind a few things before they sit down for the most sumptuous meal of their lives: 1) many of the best sushi restaurants max out their capacity at 10 to 15 seats, so reserve months in advance – do it through the hotel if you can’t speak Japanese, 2) Non-Japanese speakers might have a harder time fitting in, as these chefs prefer to explain their offerings comfortably, 3) Make sure you understand what you’re about to eat, and 4) Eat quickly, because the temperature of the rice and fish are part of the process of enjoyment.
17. Christ the Redeemer in Rio
Christ the Redeemer stands tall over Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, as one of the most iconic monuments on earth. I mean, just look at it. It is such a powerful image looking over the 3rd largest city in South America.
16. Wine Tour Through South of France
Who doesn’t want to travel through some of the most beautiful rolling hills on earth while sipping some of the best wine ever tasted? We know you’d have the time of your life, and so would we. That’s why a winery tour through the South of France comes in at number 16 on our official travel bucket list countdown.
Advice from Ken’s Wine Guide:
You picture yourself driving through picturesque vineyards, discovering wonderful unknown pinots or sipping fabled grand crus, chatting with the winemaker and zipping from one aristocratic address to another. You’re just not sure how you go about it.
The good news is that wine tasting in France has never been more accessible or more welcoming to the visitor. In every wine-producing region, tourist offices, local wine boards, wine schools, vineyards, producers and knowledgeable guides are available to help you make the most of your trip. Wine roads are designated through the vineyards by cheerful signs and maps.
…it’s a good idea to pick a region or perhaps a couple of neighboring regions and concentrate on enjoying them in depth. You could base this either on your wine preferences – a passion for Pinot Noir (Burgundy) or Cabernet Sauvignon (Bordeaux), or on a different passion – for Loire Valley chateaux or the picturesque villages of Provence. Either way, there will be more to see and taste than you imagined, and plenty to choose from. And of course, you’ll want to sample other local specialties and see the sights along the way.
15. Maldives Overwater Bungalow
We want to got bungaHIGH in a Maldives overwater bungalow! This looks to be as close to paradise as you can get. Waking up to some strong coffee and strolling out on the porch to a crystal blue ocean sunrise ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
As an extra bonus, some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the world is in the Maldives. Zach sucks at both, but maybe in the Maldives he will be able to get a bit better.
14. Zhangjiajie National Park in China
We’re going to bet that you’ve never heard of this. We hadn’t either until a friend showed us and HOLY CRIPES! Zhangjiajie looks right up there with the best National Parks in the world! And apparently the world of Avatar was based on this bad boy…
13. Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon
Are we the only ones who didn’t believe that Turkey was a country back in elementary school? Definitely thought the teacher was playing a prank on us…
Turkey is very much real, and the hot air balloon flights over Cappadocia look like the trip of a lifetime. Good enough for lucky 13 on our official bucket list countdown!

12. Road Trip through Ireland
Zach wants to sip Guinness in an authentic Irish pub. Julie wants to stick her head out of the sunroof as we cruise past castles and cliffs. How do we compromise? A road trip through Ireland!
We have so much we want to see in Ireland, a road trip is the only way to do it. Galway, Kilkenny Castle, Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Cork, Blarney Castle, Dublin, and so much more! Might have to take more than a month to see it all…

Can you name the most popular tourist attraction in Ireland? While many people believe The Cliffs of Moher to be the most popular tourist attraction in Ireland, it actually ranks at number two in the list of Ireland’s top fee-paying attractions. The number of visitors it attracts comes in just above Dublin Zoo and the Book of Kells. It’s no wonder why it receives such large volumes of visitors. This natural wonder is a spectacular place to visit. . . . . . #cliffsofmoher #irelandcoast #ireland #ireland_gram #irelandaily #ireland🍀 #irelandgram #ireland2016 #ireland2017 #ireland🇮🇪 #irelandcalling #ireland_insta #ireland_passion #irelandisgreat #irelandgirl #irelandcalling1 #irelandinspires #irelandtrip #irelandtravel #irelandroadtrip #cliffside #cliffsedge #topirelandphoto #fodorsonthego #frommerstravel #travelandleisure #nationalgeographictravel #views #aroundtheworld #travelholic
