30. Hike Banff National Park

We first discovered Banff in a friend’s wedding photo shoot, and ever since then we’ve been trying to make it to Banff! Lake Louise and Moraine Lake specifically look as cool as the other side of the pillow.

What do we love to do everywhere we go? Hiking of course! And Banff has some of the best on earth. We want to take at least a week or two and camp in the Canadian countryside outside Calgary, hiking every inch of this tundra masterpiece.

Banff National Park. For many, these words conjure up images of breathtaking scenery, turquoise-blue lakes, and a panoramic sea of peaks, of wildflowers dancing in the breeze, and wildlife minding their young next to flowing creeks. For many more that same scene includes endless trails just beckoning hikers to engross themselves in the landscape to gain those lofty views on their own two feet.

With over 1,600 kilometres (994 miles) of trails, Banff National Park offers adventurers some of the best hiking on the planet, whether it’s an easy hike to incredible vistas or a more strenuous trek deep in the backcountry.

29. Galapagos Islands Wildlife

The Galapagos is where Charles Darwin theorized evolution, and it is where we want to test our own theory. Our theory is that penguins, sea lions, and giant tortoises will make better travel buddies than people. What do you think?

Photography Equipment

We absolutely LOVE photography, and sharing pictures! These are the cameras we use on all of our adventures. The drone and GoPro help us get cool new perspectives (underwater, in the air, wide angle) and the Rebel we use on a day-to-day basis for most of our shots!

Full disclosure these are affiliate links. If you click them and buy the products we get a little bit of money, which helps us keep providing content to you for free!

The Galapagos is home to the only penguins north of equator. That basically makes them the hottest penguins in the world, once the Miss Universe Penguin Pageant comes out these babies are sure to take home the crown.

The Galápagos sea lion (Zalophus wollebaeki) is a species of #sealion that exclusively breeds on the Galápagos Islands. Being fairly social, they are often spotted sun-bathing on sandy shores or rock groups or gliding gracefully through the surf. Their loud bark, playful nature, & graceful agility in water make them the "welcoming party" of the islands #galapagos #galapagosislands #wildlife #wildlifephotography #galapagosisland #water #picoftheday #photooftheday #nature #island #ocean #sanctuary #nofilter #nofilterneeded #animal #animallover #nature #earthpix #ecuador #pacific #pacificocean #marinelife #pacificocean #instagood #instadaily #animalsofinstagram #cuteanimals #sealion #sealions

28. Patagonia

Not the apparel. We do love some good Patagonia threads, but we are talking about the southern tip of South America (which the clothing company was named after). This is the unicorn for a number of hikers and climbers out there, and we don’t want to miss out on all the fun.

27. Danube River Cruise

The Danube River came rushing into our lives on a past trip to Budapest in Hungary. While soaking in the sights and sounds of Budapest, we noticed a few river cruises floating down the Danube, stopping at the docks.

After seeing 5 or 6 boats, Julie ran up in a huff to one of the passengers coming off the boat. She was somehow able to stop the passenger from calling the police on her, and even got some information on the cruise!

These bad boys cut straight through the heart of Europe, from the Black Sea all the way through Germany. They stop off at many amazing cities along the way, and even have free bikes that you can take to explore each new city! As you all know, the best way to explore any new city is on two wheels.

26. Sled Dogs in Sweden

Julie loves dogs more than she loves Zach, and it’s not even close. So it is natural that she wants to spend as much time with them as she possibly can.

Read the start of this story by WildJunket and tell me you don’t want to book a dogsledding trip ASAP:

“Yap yap, kom igen!” Come on, shouted Lina. The cacophony of howling and barking suddenly ceased and we were instantly engulfed in silence as our troop of huskies took to their heels. All morning, this was what they had been waiting for: running with all their might, with their tongues wagging, saliva dripping in all directions.

And off we went, swooshing through the thick snow into the pine tree forests on sleighs led by our trusty canine hosts. With Abisko National Park as our destination, we headed high up into the slopes, leaving the stunning Lake Torneträsk behind us. We zipped through snow-covered bridges, over frozen water channels and slippery ice chunks. Towering mountains surrounded us at all times, with the Aurora Sky Station perched high up on Mount Nuolja at the edge of the fjord.

When we arrived in Swedish Lapland to go dogsledding, we were expecting behemoth dogs, muscular from years of Arctic adventures. However, upon arrival, the huskies were tinier than expected. The size of mini border collies. Despite their size, they were strong AF, demanding to sprint through the tundra like their lives depended on it. If we dared to step on the break (a claw like contraption), we were faced with howls and barks as if to say, “WTF man? Can we go yet?” Every time we would slow, the anchor leg pup, Hilda, would jump forward as though she were challenging Carl Lewis to a broad jump contest. These pups meant business and we were ready for the ride of our lives. ••••• #dogsledding #dogs_of_world #swedishlapland #visitsweden #goprotravel • • • • #snowtime #sweden🇸🇪 #sweden_images #sweden_nature #goprolife #gopro_epic #adventuretravel #adventureculture #europe_gallery #europe_vacations #pov #gopro_adventures #topeuropephoto #topswedenphoto #sledding #sleddogs #loves_sweden #igsweden #igerssweden #europetour #tlpicks

25. Salar de Uyuni – Salt Flats in Bolivia

The largest salt flat in the world! At a certain time of the year nearby lakes overflow and leave a thin layer of water on top of the salt flats causing a spectacular reflection of everything in the area.

Do a handstand and you will have no idea which way is up, at least until you come crashing down… During the dry season the endless horizon allows a photographer to play with depth of field and optical illusions. There’s literally never a bad time to visit the Salt Flats in Bolivia.

24. Camel Ride through a Desert

What can spit 10 feet, has hair all over its body, and can go days without peeing? Zach! And camels… We think he might have been a camel in a past life, to be honest it would explain a lot.

Riding a camel through the desert sounds straight up biblical, we’ll absolutely be blasting tunes from Prince of Egypt on the ride. We’re thinking the best destinations are Jordan, Morocco, and Dubai, but as long as the ride is ‘bumpy’ we’re on board!

Me, my camel and the desert. You can call me Nathalie of Arabia haha 😂! Have you ever watched Lawrence of Arabia? It was filmed here! 🎥 🏜🐪 ::::: Camel amazingness: on our last night, I lost my sunglasses in the desert and didn’t realize it before leaving our tent the day after. I told our guide about it, he called a few people (as soon as we had network) and guess what? A camel found my sunnies!!! His owner took it, and brought it back to the village we were heading to! Camels are amazing 💖😎 ::::: 📷 by @labengale ______ #shareyourjordan #visitjordan #gojordan #ilovejordan #livelovejordan #wearetravelgirls #ladiesgoneglobal #postcardplaces #sheisnotlost #wadirum #speechlessmoment #darlingescapes #desertvibes #sidewalkerdaily #travelgirls #blondesandcookies #youmustsee #iamtb #letsgoeverywhere #bestplacestogo #wadirumjordan #camel #thetravelwomen #femmetravel #globelletravels #travellingtheworld #todolistguide #desertsafari #tlpicks #wanderwoman

23. Luau in Hawaii or the Pacific Islands

One word, Moana. When How Far I’ll Go comes on we are both screaming along at the top of our lungs. Not that we didn’t want to go to a legit luau before we saw Moana, but we’d be lying if we said it didn’t fan the flames.

Ancient dances! Food! Face and body paint! More food! Native costumes! Dessert! Luaus sound absolutely epic, and we want to see one where they were born: Hawaii.

22. Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, Kenya

Yes, this place exists, and these are real pictures. Giraffe Manor is a cross between a safari, a zoo, a wildlife refuge, and a hotel. The giraffes roam the grounds and LITERALLY HAVE BREAKFAST WITH YOU! WE ARE NOT PULLING YOUR LEG. Google it. We’ll wait.

What did you find? The giraffes literally have breakfast with the guests? That’s what we thought. Do we even have to say anything more? Breakfast with Melmon from Madagascar is all the convincing I need to make Giraffe Manor number 22 on our travel bucket list.

More from silverspoonlondon:

Giraffe Manor really is a place of dreams. In the morning over breakfast the herd of Rothschild giraffes that roam the grounds of Giraffe Manor will stick their elegant long necks through the window looking to share a nibble with the guests.

21. Explore Lake Powell & Horseshoe Bend

This man-made lake is more like a river, leaving lots of shoreline for hiking and lots of water for cruising. Can you imagine whipping around these bends on two skis? Sounds like one heck of a hairpin turn!

If Julie’s water skiing skills are anything like her snow skiing skills we are in for some wicked wipeouts. Once we’re waterlogged we’d love to camp on the canyon, rest our feet, wake up to these breathtaking views and do it all again.

There you have it! Numbers 30 to 21 on lolglobetrotting’s travel bucket list! Check back soon for numbers 20 to 11!
