One of the best places to visit with your toddler is Oceanário de Lisboa. The Lisbon aquarium is one of the largest in the world, and the main tank consists of five million litres of water! Costa Rica

Costa Rica is one of the best international places to travel with toddlers for many reasons.

This Central American country is very safe, and its industry is based around tourism. As a result, the country is warm and welcoming towards tourists and specifically young children. There are a range of family-friendly hotels in Costa Rica specifically aimed at providing amenities for families, such as baby cots, babysitting, playrooms, and easy nature rails.

Young children thrive when spending time outdoors, and Costa Rica is a great place to do just that. Your toddler will love experiencing the rainforest and wildlife. It’s not uncommon to see monkeys on the beach or at restaurants in Costa Rica and your toddler will be both amazed and amused when they get to see them.

Known as the adventure capital of New Zealand, it may not seem a natural choice for toddlers, but in fact it can be such a great place to explore with young kids.

Toddlers can have their own epic adventures in Queenstown. Families must head up the Skyline Gondola for the epic views and also take a ride on the luge. Toddlers (31in and taller) can double with their parents for only $5 extra for as many rides as they like.  They’ll love speeding down the track and looking all over the mountains.

Those not up for a rush can try some unique experiences such as seeing a native kiwi in the Kiwi Park or a historic steamship tour on the TSS Earnslaw visiting a local farm. You could even book a scenic flight to one of New Zealand’s top attractions like Fiordland National Park or Mount Cook!

There are also so many great free things to do such as the waterfront playground, a short walk to Bobs Cove or playing frisbee in Queenstown Gardens.

There is plenty of great family accommodation in Queenstown and the Driftaway Queenstown is one of the best. Villa and camping options with a huge playground and even a firetruck bathtub make this a must visit spot. Queenstown is absolutely one of the best international places to travel with toddlers!

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

One of the best international places to travel with toddlers is Sharjah in the UAE. The emirate has many fabulous family destinations and events. In fact, it was the first location to be awarded the title Child Friendly City by UNICEF!

Your toddler will love the nature reserves in the area. Sharjah Aquarium is definitely a top attraction toddlers will enjoy, followed by Wasit Wetlands Reserve.

A short bus ride out of the city will bring you to Sharjah Desert Park, home to The Arabian Wildlife Center, Children’s Farm and Natural History Museum with lots of interactive and fun displays.

Other fun locations are the Airport, Science and Archaeology Museums, which are suitable for all ages and very budget-friendly.  

Al Noor Island and Butterfly House is a must along with the many beaches and parks. As well as seeing and interacting with some beautiful butterflies, your toddler can bounce along the trampoline path, enjoy different habitats.

Sharjah’s many festivals and fairs have fun events for children and the Children’s Reading Festival in the fall.

Children under 12 go free almost everywhere or for a low cost. Lastly, mothers’ rooms are available in all locations if you need to change or feed your toddler.

Colmar, France

Colmar is the perfect place to take your toddlers if you want them to have a magical experience. This charming city is known for looking like a Disney movie set, thanks to its incredibly colorful half-timbered houses, cobblestoned streets, flower pots, and charming village life. It is the most spectacular place in all of France!
 
It even served as the inspiration for Beauty and the Beast, and you can see why! Locals actually stroll around, carrying freshly baked bread.
